Diagnostik- & Forschungs- (D&F) Institut für Pathologie

Institute staff teach students the causes, development and consequences of disease as the basis of clinical diagnostics and rational therapy. This includes the fundamentals of diseases and their development mechanisms (pathogenesis) as the basis for understanding clinical presentation, clinical diagnostics and efficient therapy.

Lehre Pathologie

Basis for clinical disciplines

Teaching in pathology provides the basis for the study of the clinical disciplines. Since it builds on knowledge from the preclinical areas (anatomy, histology, physiology, biology, biochemistry, etc.) and takes into account the clinical situation, pathology mediates between the basic sciences and the clinical disciplines.

PhD-Programm

International PhD program

The Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease (DK-MCD) PhD program is a joint educational program of the Medical University of Graz and the University of Graz. DK-MCD offers a multidisciplinary training program and dissertation projects in the areas "New Concepts and Technologies for Studying Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease," "Lipid-associated Diseases," "Cancer and Lipid Metabolism" and "Cardiovascular Disease." The educational program covers a broad range of topics including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, metabolomics, proteomics, physiology, pharmacology, pathology and clinical medicine.

The goal is to provide a solid doctoral education in biomedicine that prepares graduates for a career as independent researchers in biomedicine and the life sciences.
